How to Always Open Google.com in English with Google Chrome

Google.com in English is, by default, but do you meet the problem that whenever you type google.com in your browser bar and Enter, it opens the page is not google.com, the website language is not English by default too. Why?

Because that Google will show the language depends on the IP address you use. For example, when I travel abroad to Paris, my Internet connection is provided by the Hotel I'm staying at, Google detects my IP address is assigned to French ISP and automatically assumes that I understand and would prefer to read the French language.

When I open google.com, it throws me into Google France (google.fr) with French everywhere, also, after googling, it returns French search results. But I actually don't understand French (even don't know how to say "thank you" in French) and the Windows UI language is in English.

Steps to Open Google.com in English

Clicking on the the URLs can temporarily change the language to English, from list below:

• http://www.google.com/webhp?hl=en [A]
• http://www.google.com/intl/en/ [B]

Google Chrome is my primary browser software, because simply typing search phrase in browser bar can do a Google search, for convenient, force the default search is google.com in english, here are steps. Hope this helps.

(1) Set homepage as Google.com in English

Set the one of the Google in English URLs _{[A] [B]} into your Chrome's startup page setting. You can read this article How to Set Goolge as Homepage in Google Chrome to see the detailed steps.

In Settings tab, under On startup section.
Fill in the field ₍₁₎ with a Google in English URL (A or B) and click on the OK button.

Remove the original startup setting ₍₃₎, after you done this step, you'll be able to open Google.com in English default when you open a new tab page in Google Chrome.

(2) Manage search engine in Chrome's settings

If you want to googling something only with google.com by directly typing the search phrases on the browser, just set the google.com as the default search engine in your Google Chrome's setting.

In Settings tab, under Search section, click on the Manage search engines button.

Fill out the fields ₍₄₎ with the data below:

• Name ==> google.com
• Keyword ==> Google.com in English
• URL ==> Paste the URL below:http://www.google.com/search?q=%s

And then click OK₍₅₎.

The last step is to click on the Make default button. After your done this step, even use the foreign IP address to surf on the Internet, you won't worry about the Google in English problem anymore.
